Our recumbent bicycles
After years of experience with building recumbent bikes for ourselfs, we finally found the perfect one, and we want to share it with you :)
Simple and light highracer "stick bike" format for lightweight and comfortable ride.
Frame is made out of ST52 high precision cold drawn thin wall steel tubing of highest quality, which helps in keeping the weight down, and offers a very comfortable ride even on the worst of chip-seal shake-and-bake roads.
Dual 26" or 700c wheels give excellent ride and minimum rolling resistance, especially on less then perfect road surfaces.
And what comes with those usual road bike or mtb sized rims is a very wide choice of wheels and tires, be it a budget set that won't break the bank, or a full out racing high profile or disc wheels. And that of course means if you should need an emergency spare out there on the road, or in the middle of that Paris-Brest-Paris qualification brevet, it's easy to find or borrow a spare, so you won't be stranded,
and in a danger of a DNF.
Chain line is as straight as it gets, so minimum wasted energy with sharp chain angles over idler wheels, and without need for power-robbing and noisy chain tubes or additional idler wheels to route the chain over the front wheel, thanks to the over-under idler setup and idler and crankset position.
Handlebars are "open cockpit", also known as tweener or superman bars, for good aerodynamics and above all, comfort. No more sore elbows or sweaty arm pits. Handlebar works with all gear shifting lever types, so you can choose your favorite trigger, twist or bar-end shifters.
Using handlebar tape for road bikes, all cables are kept tidy and out of sight (no need for ugly zip-ties)
Open cockpit also allows easy getting on and off the bike, with no need for folding stems and the like
Seat angle is adjustable, from around 20 degrees for best aerodynamics and ultra long distance comfort, to a more upright angle for better view of the road and use in the city or on your favorite trails.
Should you like to travel with your bike, stick bike format allows for easy packing, and with some practice you can break the bike down and pack it into a snowboard bag/case in less then 10 minutes, pack the wheels in a wheel bag and you're ready for bus/train travel, or a flight across the ocean.

Carrying stuff
There is sufficient space above the rear wheel for a regular luggage rack and panniers, and our Crosso rack does not only fit the Crosso panniers perfectly, but it's also a perfect fit on our bike.
Most seat-back bags such as 10/12 liter Radical Designs Solo bag are a perfect fit, and ideal for carrying essentials on day rides.
To answer the eternal problem of carrying stuff on a recumbent, while keeping the content 100% dry and clean in all weather conditions, in cooperation with Crosso, a renowned Polish bicycle panniers manufacturer, we have developed a special line of recumbent drybags.
So be it just a training ride, or a double century, or perhaps light touring, you will be able to choose an appropriate bag for the job, and all that without ever needing a rack, or with a fear that your stuff might get wet if it rains.
1 or 2 liter dry bag will keep your spare tube, pump, tools, batteries and a rain jacket along with arm and leg warmers neatly behind the seat back, just between the lower and upper seat attachment. Should you need additional space to carry that 2 liter camelback with you on a 400k brevet, we have a dedicated bag that can attach either on the side of the seat, or along the upper seat back.
Should you need to take even more stuff, like clothing for ever-changing spring/fall weather, or that 10" netbook or iPad , get that 5 liter dry bag pocket for the upper side of the seat back, which will not only take lot's of stuff, but it will also keep your stuff dry no matter what.
And no, you won't need a rear mudguard to protect the bag and it's content from getting soaked with road spray thrown from your rear wheel (but you might want to use one to keep the muck off the back of your head ;) ) as these bags are 100% waterproof even when submerged in water.
If you're up for some light touring, you won't need a rack with our special recumbent dry bags,
which will hold up to 40 liters of stuff par pair, and keep the contents dry even in the worst of monsoon showers or crossing those icy mountain rivers in the middle of Tibet.
Should you just need something to haul groceries back from the super market, or get away for a cycling weekend while sleeping in a B&B or just under the clear sky in the summer, and 20 liters is plenty of space for you, these dry bags can be used as a single bag. Just wrap the straps around the seat and you're ready.
Here's what we fit inside a pair of those (as on the picture above):
2 person 3 season double wall tent, medium weight synthetic sleeping bag, self inflatable 35mm term-a-rest sleeping mattress, self inflatable pillow, travelers micro fiber towel, 1 winter cycling bib tights, 1 winter soft shell jacket, 1 thicker fleece jacket, 1 medium fleece long sleeve jersey, 1 light fleece backed long sleeve jersey, 2 short sleeve jerseys, 1 cycling shorts, 4 pairs of medium weight sport socks, a change of "civilian" underwear plus thin tourists trousers, and 2 t-shirts.
And in the Radical Solo Aero bag we have a 10" netbook with a power adapter and an extra battery, medium sized digital photo camera, AA/AAA quick battery charger, 10 pcs. 18650 Li-Ion cells for the SSC-P7 LED torch, a multitool, spare tubular tire, patch kit and a pump, sun screen and basic cosmetics kit.
